Delegates were delighted to hear that 25 organisations in Chelmsford are now supporting our public meeting on Climate Change which will be held on 4 December at Christ Church. They were also very appreciative of the offer from Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society to assist us in promoting the event.
Concern was expressed at the increase of car-parking charges by Mid Essex Hospitals Trust and it was agreed that we should write to register our concern. It was also noted that the former Chief Executive had said that it was her intention to phase out parking charges as quickly as possible.
The Council is encouraging its affiliates to support “Experiences of Palestine” which is being held by The Society of Friends at its Meeting House on 10 October. “Several delegates to Chelmsford TUC will also be attending a performance of “Tea with Mrs Pankhurst”, performed by New Strides Productions and the South East Region TUC at Congress House on 19 October.
